POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Bard College women's squash team opened the 2019-20 season at the Vassar Round Robin on Saturday.

The Raptors lost to Boston University, 5-4, and then to Vassar, 9-0.

Freshman Pam Jaramillo, playing in her first college match - and playing in the No. 1 position - defeated Boston University's Normandie Essig, 11-7, 11-7 and 11-7. Justine Zaki fought off Gaby Kuntz at No. 6, winning 3-11, 11-6, 11-4 and 11-9. Bard's other two points came on defaults.

Next week, Bard will participate in the Colgate Round Robin, where the Raptors will face Colgate and Bucknell.
