The Bard College women's squash team picked up its first win over William Smith since the program was established in 2017 on Saturday, 8-1. Previously, the most matches that the Raptors had won against the Herons was one. 

At the no. 1 ladder, Stephanie Rojas Tlatilolpa gutted out at 3-1 win, including a 15-13 win in her first collegiate game. Another first year, Kimberly Montesinos, was dominant in her matchup against William Smith's Kimberly Javier, 3-0. Hanna Okalava, Catherine Chapel, and Nioby Rodriguez also had 3-0 wins at the no. 3, no. 5, and no. 9 ladders.

Tarana Downer rebounded from a 3-11 third game to close out her opponent at the no. 4 ladder, 13-11 in the final game. Snow Queen was unable to pick up a game but extended the second game, 10-12 at the no. 6 ladder. At the no. 7 ladder, Camille Millan debuted with a 3-1 win after dropping the first game. Essa Kyaw was victorious in a back-and-forth match, 3-1.

"I was pleased to see the team's support for each other. Tight games in a new environment can be daunting, but I thought they stepped up well and their teammates made it easier on them."

Bard plays in the Vassar Round Robin on Saturday, with Mount Holyoke facing the Raptors at 12:00 p.m.
