ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team lost to Rochester Institute of Technology, 4-0, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers (7-3-0, 2-1-0 Liberty League) dominated from the start, controlling possession through and producing a number of early corner kicks. In the 10th minute, a corner that was hit into the box was chipped by Christine Cataldo-Smith (Yardley, PA) to Mia White (Littleton, CO), and White headed it low to the far corner to give RIT a 1-0 lead.
White scored again in the 34th minute, after an over-the-top pass from Jessica Jones (Holden, MA) put her in alone on a breakaway. It was 2-0 at halftime with RIT holding a 15-1 edge in shots.
Jessica Wagner made it 3-0 in the 57th minute, off a feed from Jones, and Abbey Saia scored an unassisted goal in the 77th minute off a scramble in front.
Bard (3-8-1, 0-4-0) had one great chance to score when
Giordana Scanni got loose on a breakaway in the 83rd minute, but Alyssa Salls (Plattsburgh, NY) made the save.
