ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's soccer team lost to Clarkson University, 3-0, in a Liberty League game on Friday.
The Golden Knights, alone in first place in the Liberty League entering the weekend, took a patient approach in the first half, managing just one shot on goal in the first 25 minutes. But in the 33rd minute, a short corner played from Matt Adamou (New Milford, CT) to Michael Tocci (Plymouth, MA) produced a cross to the far post. A mass of players were in the box, but the cross filtered through everyone and tucked inside the far post for a 1-0 lead. That was the score at halftime.
In the 61st minute of the second half, a clearing attempt in the Bard box bounced off of Devon Bahr (New Fairfield, CT) and went in, making it 2-0. And Clarkson finished the scoring when Joey White (Niagara Falls, NY) headed in a corner kick from John Furcick (Poughquag, NY).
Ian Roeloffs (Warwick, NY) made two saves for Clarkson, 8-3-2 overall, 4-0-2 in conference play.
Coe Trevorrow produced both of Bard's shots on goal, and
Logan Leppo made six saves for the Raptors, 1-11-1, 0-6-0.
The Raptors next host St. Lawrence on Saturday afternoon at 2. Follow it live right here.
