ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's soccer team lost to St. Lawrence University, 3-0, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.
The Saints improved to 5-7-1 overall, 2-4-1 in the Liberty League. Bard fell to 1-12-1, 0-7-0.
St. Lawrence controlled possession throughout, and scored its first goal in the 16th minute. A hard cross from the right wing by Dylan McDonough (Pittsburgh, PA) was headed in by Robert Reynolds (Dana Point, CA).
Sam Sapnar (Rumson, NY) scored in the 27th minute. A St. Lawrence corner kick to the near side of the box was headed by a Bard player in a clearing attempt. It turned out to be more of a deflection, and Sapnar, who was on the other side of the box, scored to the far post with a header of his own.
In the 59th minute, Marvin Sibanda (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) made it 3-0 on breakaway.
Bard's best chance to score came in the 75th minute.
Dylan Jung made a run toward the near post and chipped it in front as he got near the goal line.
Denton Lane's one-timer went just wide.
Logan Leppo made 12 saves for the Raptors, who next play at Cobleskill on Wednesday.
