ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team dropped a home matchup with Ithaca College, falling 3-0 to the Bombers Saturday afternoon.
The Raptors (6-13, 0-4 LL) hung around early in the first set, playing to a 6-6 score. But Ithaca (13-5, 4-0 LL) pulled away with a 16-5 run to take command, then closed out set one with a 25-14 win.
The second set featured a similar pattern, as Bard remained tied with the Bombers early. Once again, Ithaca was able to put together a strong stretch to take control and picked up a 25-12 victory in set two. The visitors continued their impressive play in the third, taking an early lead and closing the match out by scoring 10 unanswered points to win the match by a 3-0 score.

Maracela Talamantes led the Raptors with five kills on the day, while also collecting five digs. Classmate
Jewel Smith had nine assists during the match, and senior
Lia Taus led Bard with 12 digs.
The Raptors continue conference play in their next match, a home meeting with Vassar College Wednesday, Oct. 16. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
