POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Vassar College netted three first half goals, as the Bard College women's soccer team fell 5-1 to the Brewers Tuesday afternoon.
Vassar (5-4-1, 2-0 LL) got on the board in the 26th minute when Savannah Cutler (Deer Park, Texas) put in the first goal of the game to give the Brewers a 1-0 lead. The home team added two more goals in the half, with Violet Munnelly (Valley Cottage, N.Y.) and Sydney MacDonald (Hopkinton, Mass.) both scoring to extend the lead to 3-0.
The Raptors (3-7-1, 0-3 LL) got one back late in the half, when freshman
Gillian Randall scored her first collegiate goal to get Bard within two at the intermission. But Vassar was able to add to their lead in the second half, as Cutler picked up her second goal of the game in the 52nd minute, followed by a late goal from Jordan Moss (Tustin, Calif.) to lift the Brewers to a 5-1 victory.
The Raptors return home Saturday, Oct. 5, for another Liberty League matchup when they face off with RIT at 1:00 p.m.
