ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's tennis team improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2016 with a tough 6-3 victory over Ramapo College on Sunday afternoon.
The teams split doubles matches early, as Bard won easily at No. 1, and Ramapo won easily at No. 3. But No. 2 doubles was a battle.
Harper Zacharias and
Jamie-Rose Graham hung on to beat Francesca Chicherchia (Mahwah, NJ) and Danielle Gilman (Mahwah, NJ), 8-6.
In singles,
Katie Esposito,
Katri Shields and Graham won in straight sets at Nos. 1, 2 and 4, respectively.
Eva Grunblatt won a tiebreaker to prevail at No. 5.
Up next, Bard will try to get to 4-0 for the first time since 2011 when Sage visits Annandale on Wednesday night.
