HAVERFORD, PA - The Bard College women's volleyball team split a pair of games Sunday afternoon, topping the 2017 Skyline Conference regular season champion, Farmingdale State, 3-2, before falling to Bethany College, 3-0, to wrap up the day.
The Raptors earned their first win of the season by outlasting the Rams of Farmingdale State, 3-2. Set scores for the contest were 17-25, 25-19, 25-17, 23-25 and 16-14.
Storm Bookhard tallied a game-high 13 kills for the Raptors, while
Jewel Smith broke her career high in assists with 40 against Farmingdale.
Kelsey Voiklis (Commack, NY) powered the Rams with 12 kills and nine blocks in the loss.
In game two, Bard fell to Bethany College, 3-0. Set scores for the match were 25-10, 25-16 and 25-13.
Maracela Talamantes finished with nine kills and eight digs, while
Emily Anastasi recorded a game-high 20 digs.
Katie Sparks (Macedonia, OH) led the Bison with 11 kills and eight digs.
With the split, the Raptors moved to 1-3, while Farmingdale dropped to 0-4. Bethany meanwhile, improved to 3-1.
