BOSTON, MA - The Bard College women's squash team lost its final match of the season Sunday morning, falling to Fordham University, 7-2, at the College Squash Association National Team Championships.
The Raptors finished the 2017-18 campaign with a 3-14 record in their inaugural varsity season. The three wins marked a two win improvement over their 2016-17 club sport debut.
Bard's two wins on the day came from No. 5
Nadia Russell, who outlasted her opponent in five sets, and No. 2
Francesca Cornali, who swept her final career match.
Russell won the first and third sets, 11-4, before winning the fifth and final set in thrilling fashion, 12-10.
Cornali had an easily time in the second slot for Bard, taking her match, 11-3, 11-4 and 11-5.
Renad Bdair and
Olivia Terzian were the only other Bard players to win a set on the day. Both were defeated in four sets.
