ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. The Bard College men's volleyball team lost to Sage College, 3-0, Saturday afternoon in its home opening United Volleyball Conference match.
Set scores for the contest were 25-19, 25-14 and 25-8.
With the defeat, the Raptors fell to 0-12 overall and 0-2 in UVC play. The Gators of Sage College meanwhile, improved to 7-6 and 1-0.
Bard was under a consistent barrage the entire match. The Gators finished with a .500 hitting percentage over the three sets, 43 kills and just seven errors. Bailey Cecchi (Agawam, MA) led Sage with 11 kills, two aces and eight digs. Ryan Jennings (North Brunswick, NJ) collected 23 assists, while Shane Wenz (Valatie, NY) finished with five blocks.
The Raptors got two blocks, five digs and a game-high 13 kills from
Stefan Briggs in the effort.
Josh Kim recorded 17 assists and
Tyler Zowaski added three aces, four assists and five digs.
