ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team was defeated in straight sets Sunday afternoon, falling to the 14th-ranked New Paltz Hawks in a United Volleyball Conference match.
Set scores for the contest were 25-20, 25-12 and 25-11.
The Hawks hit .398 on the afternoon, including .520 in the third set and produced 45 kills, nine aces and four blocks along the way. Tevin Skeete (St. Albans, NY) led New Paltz with a game-high 10 kills, while Yorman Escobar (Sunnyside, NY) added nine kills. Matthew Grace (Holbrook, NY) collected 36 assists in the win.
The Raptors got six kills, three digs and an ace from
Tyler Zowaski.
Stefan Briggs added five kills and four digs, while
Tristan Kozul finished with eight digs.
Josh Kim recorded 15 assists in the effort.
With the loss, Bard fell to 0-13 overall and 0-3 in the UVC. New Paltz moved to 6-4 and 1-1 in the UVC.
