POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Bard College women's squash team opened the 2018-19 season with a pair of matches at the Vassar Round Robin on Saturday.

The Raptors started the day with a 6-3 loss to Boston University. Senior Olivia Terzian, playing in the No. 1 spot for the first time, rallied to win a thriller over Normandie Essig, 11-7, 9-11, 9-11, 11-8 and 11-4. Bard's other two points came on defaults, but Nadia Russell took ame at No. 3.

Later in the day, Bard lost to a strong squad from Georgetown, 9-0.

"It was a great win for (Terzian) at No. 1," said Bard coach Craig Thorpe-Clark. "I thought the women handled themselves very well, considering many of them were first-timers."
