POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The 37th-ranked Bard College men's squash team split a pair of matches at the Vassar Round Robin on Saturday, defeating No. 39 Northeastern, 6-3, and losing to No. 30 Connecticut College, 9-0.
Ayateru Maeda had one of the key victories in Bard's first match of the day, outlasting Karan Kimkishcpur 11-5, 12-10, 6-11, 12-14 and 11-7, at No. 2.
Julian Dime, Pranjal Ghate, Vikramaditya Joshi,
Theo Webb and Artun Ak swept their matches at Nos. 3-7, respectively, to clinch it for the Raptors.
Rhys Nordstrom almost pulled off an upset at No. 1, pushing Connecticut College's Alex Snape to five games. Snape prevailed 11-13, 11-4, 11-7, 6-11 and 11-8.
Up next for Bard are the Liberty League Championships, to be hosted by Vassar College next weekend.
