ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team split a non-league tri-match on Saturday, sweeping City College of New York, before being swept by U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

In the middle match of the day, USMMA swept CCNY.

The Raptors (4-14) started the day a bit slow, falling behind CCNY in the first set, 21-16, 23-17 and 24-21. But Bard awoke at just the right time. Kills by Alexis Akingbade and Victoria Chou cut the first set deficit to 24-23, consecutive CCNY attack errors gave Bard a 25-24 lead, and Akingbade closed it out with an emphatic kill, 26-24.

Bard jumped out to 10-5 lead in the second set and never looked back, winning it 25-15. And the third set went similarly, with Bard getting out to a 10-5 lead and winning the final set, 25-16.
