BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Bard College women's volleyball team lost to Alvernia University and Baldwin Wallace University on Day 2 of the season-opening Greyhound Premiere Invitational, hosted by Moravian College.
Bard senior
Alexis Akingbade was named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Raptors (0-4) were downed by Alvernia, 25-19, 25-15 and 25-17. The Crusaders were led by 12 kills and five digs from senior Kristen Sipling (Lancaster, PA), and Abby O'Donnell (Nesquehoning, PA) had 23 assists.
Bard got six kills and nine digs from
Maracela Talamantes, and 10 assists from
Jewel Smith.
Later in the day, Baldwin Wallace (4-0) swept Bard 25-16, 25-16 and 25-19. Baldwin Wallace got 11 kills from Allyson Smith (Macedonia, OH) and 17 assists from Tournament MVP Kathleen Egan (Cleveland, OH).
Bard was led by
Philippine Alba, who had seven kills and 11 digs.
Victoria Chou had 11 assists, while Talamantes and
Lia Taus had eight digs apiece.
