CLINTON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's squash team ended its season Saturday afternoon, with a pair of losses on the road to Connecticut College and Hamilton College.
While the Raptors ended up falling in both matches, the day will go down as a historic one, as it marked the end of the first year of the Bard College women's squash program.Â
Up until this year, any women that wanted to play squash had to play on the men's team. The 2016-17 campaign was just the first step for the team, as it continues its progression into next year and full varsity sport credentials.Â
The Raptors finished with a 1-10 record overall, with the win coming over New York University just a few weeks ago.
The team's #1,Â
Francesca Keller, and #2,Â
Francesca Cornali, came into their own as the top options for Bard this year. Each won at least four of their individual matchups during the season, while the rest of the team made great strides and improvements all-around.Â
