BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Bard College women's squash team opened its inaugural varsity season with a doubleheader Saturday afternoon.

Following a year at the club level in 2016-17, Bard College elevated the program to varsity status this past summer.

The Raptors began their varsity campaign with a pair of losses, falling to Liberty League foe, William Smith College, 8-1 and Washington University in St. Louis, 6-3. 

Bard's lone victory against William Smith came via a forfeit in the No.9 spot

In the second match, Bard's No.1 Francesca Keller and No.2 Francesca Cornali, each defeated their opponents in straight sets.

In the No.3 spot, Renad Bdair won the first set for Bard, 11-8, before she was defeated in the next three sets of her contest.

The No. 9 spot was Bard's other victory on the day, due to forfeit.

Up next for the Raptors is another doubleheader, as the team travels Hamilton, NY to take on Colgate University and the University of Rochester on November 11th.
