MEDFORD, MA - The Bard College men's squash team split a pair of contests Sunday afternoon, falling to Tufts University, before rebounding to top Boston College in the second contest of the day.
The Raptors lost to Tufts, 9-0, and were unable to win a set along the way.
Match two went much better for Bard however, as the team topped Boston College, 7-2, with
Rhys Nordstrom and
Ayateru Maeda pulling out five-set victories.
Nordstrom jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the No.1 spot, before falling 11-9 in the fourth set. In the fifth and final set, Bard's No.1 locked in and pulled out an 11-4 win to hand the Raptors the win.
Maeda's win was even more impressive, as the No.2 senior fell behind 0-2 in his matchup. He wasn't fazed though, as he rallied to win three straight sets by the score of 11-6 and the contest 3-2.
Julian Dime,
