HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's squash team secured its first victory of the season Saturday afternoon, topping the University of Rochester, 7-2, at the Colgate Round Robin. 

The win came after the Raptors suffered a defeat in their opening match Saturday, as the team lost to Colgate University, 8-1.

Bard's No.2 Francesca Cornali won both of her contests on the day, sweeping each opponent along the way. 

In the win over Rochester, Bard also received wins from Francesca Keller, Renad Bdair and Olivia Terzian in straight sets. 

Nadia Russell nearly completed an epic comeback from down 0-2, before falling in the fifth and final set against Rochester. 

Rose Fischer, Shahong Lee and Milan Miller won by default for Bard's other three victories on the day.

Up next for the Raptors is the Bard Round Robin, as the team hosts schools from all over the country on November 18-19. Bard's first match of the event will be against Vassar College at 9 a.m. Saturday.
