POTSDAM, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team lost at Clarkson University, 1-0, Saturday afternoon in a Liberty League showdown.
The game was a tight defensive matchup, that saw just 10 shots total between the two teams over the 90 minutes.
The Golden Knights of Clarkson (7-4-3, 3-2-1 LL) were finally able to break through late in the contest though, thanks to Victoria Goudreau's (Snohomish, WA) goal from distance.
In the 84th minute, she received the ball off a throw-in and dribbled in toward goal where she found herself in space. Goudreau shot the ball powerfully with her left leg toward goal, where
Tessa Greenhalgh was able to get her hands on the ball, but it squirted free and rolled into the back of net.Â
The Raptors (7-6, 1-5 LL) had a chance late to tie it up off a corner kick, but
Avalon Qian's shot was blocked by Clarkson's defense.Â
Julia Gibson finished with a shot on goal for Bard, while Greenhalgh recorded four saves.
Up next for Bard is a road Liberty League contest, as the team travels to Union College on October 18th. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and you can follow it right here.Â
