ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team powered its way into the win column for the first time this year, with an overwhelming victory over Purchase on Wednesday night.

The Raptors (1-4) jumped out to an early14-1 lead in the first set and never looked back, winning 25-6. The second and third sets went equally as well for Bard, as they easily won, 25-10 in the second and 25-8 in the third. 

Bard overmatched Purchase in a majority of categories, including 27 kills to their eight, 25 assists to eight and most stunning of all, Bard tallied 27 aces to Purchase's zero.

Sophomore Sofia Koukia led Bard with 10 kills and hit .667 despite only playing two sets. Freshman Jewel Smith recorded 15 assists for the Raptors and junior Kaylynn Tran had six aces. 

For Purchase, Victoria Blum (Bronx, NY) had six assists, Daja Medina (Brewster, NY) had four digs and Maura Gribbins (Buffalo, NY) had three kills.
