ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball was swept by Vassar and Union as part of a Liberty League Crossover it hosted on Friday.
In the first match of the day, Vassar beat Bard 25-14, 25-11 and 25-17. Vassar got seven kills (.500) and eight digs from Jane McLeod (New York, NY), six kills (.500) and three digs from Devan Gallagher (San Francisco, CA), and 28 assists from Annie MacMillan (Colorado Springs, CO).
Bard got five kills and nine digs from
Sofia Koukia, six assists from
Maracela Talamantes and 12 digs from
Emily Anastasi.
Later, Union swept Bard 25-17, 25-23 and 25-14. Ally VanDoren (Slingerlands, NY) led the Dutchwomen with eight kills, Katherine Moeller (West Islip, NY) had eight aces and 10 digs, and Abby Salamone (Lancaster, NY) contributed 24 assists.
Koukia led Bard again, this time with 10 kills. Talamantes had 11 digs and 22 assists; Anastasi had 11 digs and
Allison Amaya added 10 digs.
In other matches at Bard on Friday, Vassar beat RIT 3-0, Skidmore edged Union, 3-2, and RIT swept Skidmore, 3-0. Bard is 2-13 overall, 0-6 in conference play.
Everyone will head to Vassar on Saturday to complete the crossover weekend. The Raptors will play RIT at noon and Skidmore at 2. Follow both matches via Live Stats right here.
