ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.- After scoring just one goal over its previous three games, Bard's offense woke up, and the women's soccer team cruised past Purchase College, 3-0, in a non-league game on Tuesday night.
Bard (5-2) dominated the game from start to finish. The Raptors produced 30 shots and won 11 corners to none for Purchase. One of them led to Bard's first goal.
In the 18th minute,
Carla Sanchez sent a cross into the box off a corner, and
Dylan McDonald struck a diagonal header to the far post for a 1-0 lead.
It was 1-0 at halftime, but Bard continued its push in the second half.
In the 51st minute, another cross from Sanchez bounced in the six-yard box to
Avalon Qian. Her header ended up going off the crossbar and right back to her, so she nodded it in for a 2-0 lead.
The Raptors finished the scoring with
Julia Gibson's first collegiate goal in the 84th minute.
Rachel Mizrahi (Golden's Bridge, NY) made 12 saves for the Panthers, 2-4.
Chloe Ramos made three saves for Bard.
