Raptors split last two matches of 2016

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College men's volleyball team wrapped up the 2016 season splitting a tri-match. They swept CCNY before being swept by Marymount University (Va.). The Raptors finish the season with a 10-22 record.
 
Prior to the first match, Bard celebrated its four seniors: Kai Bernier-Chen, Daniel Gagne, Jesse Small, and Troy Robertson. The foursome combined to play in 412 matches for the Raptors over the last four years, and they were honored prior to the first match of the day, one at a time, by Head Coach Stefanie Carrington and Interim Head Coach Kevin Larkin.

All four of them had at least one kill in Bard's 3-0 win over CCNY - 25-20, 25-20 and 25-20. CCNY was held to an .076 hitting percentage, and Bard collected 42 kills to CCNY's 26. Bard hit .348.

The Raptors limited the Beavers to a .076 hitting percentage in the match and just 26 kills compared to their 42. Bard hit an impressive .348 clip in the match, the second highest this season.
 
For Bard, Jesse Small led the attack with 11 kills, six of them coming in the final set. Alex Adams finished with 10 kills and a team-high nine digs, while Troy Robertson added seven kills and a block. Kai Bernier-Chen had career-high 33 assists.
 
For the Beavers (8-18) Sebastjano Aga (Tirana) led his team with 14 kills. Oleskandr Boychuck (Flushing, NY) had 22 assists and nine digs.
 
Marymount defeated Bard 25-22, 25-21 and 25-14.

Marymount, the set scores in favor of the guests were 25-22, 25-21, and 25-14. Bard battled back in the first two sets.
 
The Saints (18-10) were led by TJ Wiechecki (Wilmington, DE), who had 12 kills. They also received eight kills apiece from Shahan Remington (Long Beach, CA) and Tomasz Ksiazkiewicz (Krakow, Poland). Albert Johansson (Vasterljung, Sweden) had 12 digs, while Erich Bratke (Virginia Beach, VA) added 22 assists.
 
For Bard. Adams finished with a team-high seven kills. Small added five, along with two blocks. Mahir Sheikh finished with 14 assists and Tyler Zowaski had eight digs.
