NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Bard College men's volleyball team defeated Yeshiva University, 3-1, in a non-league match on Wednesday night. The victory snapped a five-match losing streak for the Raptors.
Set scores for Bard were 25-11, 25-16, 25-27, and 25-10.
Overall, Bard's .240 hitting percentage was its best of the year. It started with a 25-11 first set, in which the Raptors hit .333 with 10 kills and two blocks.
Bard cranked it up even more in the second set, cruising to a 25-16 win with a .522 hitting percentage and 14 kills. The Raptors' efficiency waned in the final two sets, as Yeshiva took the third, 27-25, before Bard closed it out, 25-10.
For Yeshiva (2-9), Matthew Rosenberg (Woodmere, NY) had seven kills and four digs.
Bard senior
Troy Robertson tied his career high with nine kills and he hit .500. Interestingly his previous high of nine was also produced against Yeshiva last February.
Alex Adams also had nine kills, and he added seven aces.
Jesse Small had seven kills and seven digs;
Kai Bernier-Chen had 15 assists and six digs, and
Mahir Sheikh contributed 14 assists and seven digs.
