ERIE, Pa. – The Bard College men's volleyball team was swept by 10
th-ranked Vassar and Penn State-Behrend in United Volleyball Conference (UVC) matches on Saturday afternoon.
Vassar (11-2, 2-1 UVC) topped Bard 25-12, 25-12 and 25-16. Matthew Knigge (New Egypt, NJ) and Brian Manley (Buffalo, NY) each had nine kills for Vassar. Zechariah Lee (Santa Clarita, CA) had 20 assists, while Quinn Rutledge (Chesterfield, VA) had 11 digs.
For Bard,
Alex Adams had four kills and five digs, along with three blocks, while
Jesse Small had three kills and six digs.
Kai Bernier-Chen (five digs) and
Mahir Sheikh (four digs) each had six assists.
Tyler Zowaski had nine digs, while
Daniel Gagne had three aces.
Penn State-Behrend (3-7, 1-1 UVC) beat Bard 25-17, 25-17 and 25-17.? Trenton Munk (Baden, PA) and Tyler Hermann (Cranberry Township, PA) led the charge for the Lions with 14 and 13 kills apiece. Anthony Sprentz (Cranberry Township, PA) had 34 assists, while Hermann had eight digs and Eric Theiss (Plum, PA) had 10.
For Bard, Bernier-Chen had five kills, 11 assists, and nine digs. Small and
Troy Robertson each had four kills. Sheikh added nine assists, while Gagne had nine digs on defense.
