WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Bard College women's soccer team was defeated by defending national champion and top-ranked Williams College, 5-0, in a non-league game on Saturday afternoon.
The Ephs (9-0-1) dominated from the start and scored twice in the first 17 minutes. Audrey Thomas (Bellevue, WA) converted from close range in the eighth minute off a nice pass from Sarah Scire (Franklin Lakes, NJ) to make it 1-0, and Evan Gancedo (Pasadena, CA) scored on a PK in the 17th minute.
Allison Lu (Palo Alto, CA) scored from the left wing in the 33rd minute, and it remained 3-0 until halftime.
In the second half, Katie Wardlaw (San Marino, CA) and Lu scored.
Williams outshot Bard, 31-2.
Kelsey O'Brien made three saves for Bard in the first half, and
Chloe Ramos made seven saves in the second half.
Bard, 7-5, will next play second-ranked William Smith College on Friday in Geneva, N.Y. Follow that game live right here.
