GENEVA, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team had the unusual distinction of being the first team in NCAA Div. III history to play the No. 1 team in the national poll in consecutive games.
Impressive.
The downside is playing the No. 1 team in the nation in consecutive games. Bard was shut out by #1 William Smith College on Friday, 7-0, after being shut out, 5-0, by then-#1 Williams College last week.
On Friday, the Herons (13-0, 5-0 Liberty League) outshot Bard 33-0 and never took their foot off the pedal. Junior Evie Manning (Lytham, England) had a goal and an assist, while reserve Phoebe Wade (Brooklyn, NY) scored twice.
Kelsey O'Brien made 11 saves for the Raptors.
Up next for Bard (7-6, 1-3 LL) is a game at RIT on Saturday afternoon at 2. Follow it live right here.
