ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team lost to Rochester Institute of Technology, 1-0, in a tight Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.
In a tense, defensive struggle, the teams combined to produce just three shots on goal all day, but one of them went in for RIT, and the Tigers improved to 7-6-1 overall, 3-3-0 in the Liberty League.
It happened in the 58th minute. Junior Paige Byers (Camp Hill, PA) turned and shot from 20 yards out, and it got over the hands of Bard keeper
Kelsey O'Brien for a 1-0 lead. Abbey Saia (Monroe, CT) got the assist.
That was the game. Shots were even at 4-4 in the second half, and Bard generated two corners to one for RIT, but the Raptors could not find the equalizer and fell to 7-7-0 and 1-4-0.
Giuliana Scanni produced the only shot on goal for Bard, and O'Brien finished with one save.
Bard has three regular season games remaining, beginning with a home contest against Skidmore on Wednesday night. Follow it live right here.
