Raptors split a pair of home matches

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team went 1-1 Saturday afternoon as they played host to a tri-match with SUNY Delhi and Manhattanville College. 

Bard (6-20) started off the day with a sweep of Delhi (8-18), by scores of 26-24, 25-21 and 25-19. 

The Raptors outhit the Broncos, .222 to .049 in the match, as Sofia Koukia led the way with a .611 individual hitting percentage. She also added 11 kills, which led Bard.

Victoria Chou collected 24 assists and Emily Anastasi finished with 17 digs for the hosts. 

Kristen Maslanka (Pine Island, NY) led Delhi with eight kills, three aces and a block. Mikayla Catherman (Marietta, NY) finished the match with 22 digs for the visitors. 

In the second match of the day, Manhattanville (13-6) dropped Delhi, 3-0.

In the final match of the day, the Valiants outpaced the Raptors, 3-1, as Bard was able to win the first set, but then dropped the next three. 

Set scores for the match were, 16-25, 25-18, 25-16 and 25-22. 

After a poor first set, Manhattanville looked like a different team over the final three sets, hitting .296, .321 and .333, respectively. After producing nine hitting errors in the first set, the Valiants had eight over the final three sets. 

Philippine Alba and Koukia led Bard with 11 kills apiece, while Chou provided 31 assists and Anastasi contributed 16 digs. 

Asia Reid (Mount Vernon, NY) led Manhattanville with 12 kills and Megan Quinabo (Pearl City, HI) led all players with 36 assists in the match.
