Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

St. Lawrence holds off Bard, 69-61

CANTON, N.Y. - For the fourth straight game, it was going to come down to clutch plays late.

But for the first time in 2016, it was Bard's opponent who made those shots, and the Raptors saw their three-game winning streak snapped at St. Lawrence, 69-61, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.

A nip and tuck battle all the way, Bard (6-7, 3-1 Liberty League) was down three at halftime. They got right back into the game immediately in the second half, and the lead changed hands eight times over a 14-minute stretch of the final stanza.

When DeVahnte Mosley completed an old fashioned three-point play, he tied the game at 49-49 with 4:41 to go. The Saints (6-4, 2-0) responded with a 13-3 run, making it 62-52 with 1:20 left in the game. The Raptors got as close as 65-59 with 39 ticks left, but St. Lawrence made enough free throws to pull the game out.

Kyle Edwards (Norwich, NY) led the winners with 19 points, and Riley Naclerio (Cohoes, NY) added 14 points and seven rebounds.

Bard got 16 points and nine rebounds from Brandon Cunningham; Mosley finished with eight points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals.

After four straight road games to begin the Liberty League season, the Raptors will return home next weekend. They'll host Union and Skidmore on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Follow both games via Live Stats and Live Video right here.
