Bard drops a pair against Endicott, Emmanuel at MIT

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Bard College men's volleyball team was swept by Endicott College and Emmanuel College on Saturday afternoon in non-league matches at MIT.
 
Set scores against Endicott were 25-17, 25-14, and 25-22.

Against the Gulls, the first two sets were both close early, before Endicott was able to pull away for 25-17 and 25-14 wins.
 
The third set was a different story. The teams traded points back and forth early, but Bard built a 16-11 lead. Endicott responded with five straight points to tie it, then eventually took a 20-18 lead they did not relinquish.

For the Gulls, Troy Riorden (Fairport, NY) led his team with eight kills, while Ryan Sutherland (Fairport, NY) had six kills along with four blocks. Cameron Little (San Diego, CA) contributed with 13 assists while Devin Racey (Voorheesville, NY) had 11 assists.
 
For Bard, senior Jesse Small led his squad with nine kills and six digs. Bernier-Chen had nine assists, while junior Mahir Sheikh had seven. Sophomore Tyler Zowaski had 11 digs to lead the defense, while classmate Stefan Briggs had six kills.

Set scores against Emmanuel were 25-20, 25-14, and 25-17.
  
In the first set against the Saints (2-1), Bard rallied from a 20-11 deficit to make it 22-19, but the Saints prevailed, 25-20.

Bard dropped the next two sets 25-14 and 25-17. Drew Jordan (Braintree, MA) and Erik English (Simi Valley, CA) led Emmanuel with six kills apiece.
 
For Bard, Troy Robertson had five kills, while Jesse Small had four. Sheikh had 10 assists and Bernier-Chen had nine. Zowaski had 10 digs.
