UTICA, N.Y. – The Bard College men's volleyball team completed the Wildcat Invitational hosted by SUNY Polytechnic with a pair of losses on Saturday afternoon.
The Raptors were swept by Wentworth (25-11, 25-12, 25-17), and then lost to Wells, 3-1 (25-16, 25-21. 23-25, 25-22).
Against the Leopards (2-2), Mike Hansen (Rochester, NY) had seven kills, while Sean Mullen (Longwood, FL) had six kills and six digs. Kevin McPeek (Bethlehem, PA) had 20 digs.
For Bard, senior
Jesse Small led his squad with six kills, while picking up six digs. Senior captain
Kai Bernier-Chen had 11 assists and five digs, while sophomore
Tyler Zowaski had 10 digs.
Against the Express (2-2), Bard was able to avoid the sweep by taking the third set 25-23, before narrowly falling in the fourth set, 25-22.
John Farrugia (New Hartford, NY) led Wells with 12 kills, while Kody McCracken (Wellsboro, PA) had 11. Scott Litvin (Sayville, NY) had 28 assists and 14 digs.
Small had 16 kills and 12 digs, while junior
Alex Adams had 15 kills for the Raptors. Bernier-Chen had 23 assists and 17 digs, while junior
Mahir Sheikh had 16 assists. Zowaski had 19 digs on defense.
The Raptors (0-4) travel to Cambridge, Mass., to face United Volleyball Conference foe, MIT, on Friday, Jan. 29. The match is set to start at 7 p.m. and you can follow it right here via Live Stats and Live Video.
