SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team lost a pair of Liberty League matches on Saturday, 3-1 to St. Lawrence University, and 3-0 to Union College.
When the Raptors took a set from Rochester Institute of Technology last fall, it was the first time they'd won a Liberty League set since joining the conference in 2011. But after losing the first set Saturday to St. Lawrence, 25-12, the Raptors came back and evened the match, 25-21.
The Saints (5-8, 3-1 LL) closed Bard out, 25-14 and 25-12.
In that match, freshman
Sofia Koukia led the Raptors with seven kills, six digs and four aces.
Victoria Chou had 11 assists and six digs, and
Philippine Alba had a team-high seven digs.
Union (11-3, 2-2 LL) swept Bard 25-15, 25-21 and 21-19.
Koukia had six kills, and
Kristen Westerduin added five. Chou had 15 assists,
Julia Berry led with 13 digs, and
Zoe Morgan-Weinman had three blocks. Bard is 4-8, 0-4.
The Raptors next have a non-league match at Purchase College on Thursday night.
