BRONX, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team dropped a non-league match to New York University, 2-0, on Saturday night. 

The Violets (5-1) scored late in both halves. A goal by sophomore Olivia Braedner-Carr (New Hope, PA) in the 45th minute and then a goal in the 88th minute by classmate Jess Wong (Irvine, CA) was enough to bring down the Raptors (3-2-1). Freshman Megan Carver (Manhattan Beach, CA) had both assists for the hosts.

With time winding down in the first half, Braedner-Carr received a pass and split the Raptor defense, taking a shot towards the lower left corner to give her team a 1-0 lead. With two minutes left in regulation, Wong and Carver executed a perfect give-and-go and Wong finished the play with a shot from within the box behind the Bard defense.

Kelsey O'Brien made seven saves for Bard, as her team was outshot, 13-4. The Raptors also had a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.

Bard returns to action on Tuesday for its second of three straight road games. The Raptors will take on Purchase at 7 p.m. Follow the action via Live Stats right here.
