ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team swept Yeshiva University in its home opener on Thursday afternoon.

The Raptors won by scores of 25-9, 25-13, and 25-13 and improve to 2-4, while the Maccabees fell to 1-3.

Sofia Koukia led Bard with 12 kills and had six digs along with three aces, while Alexis Akingbade had seven kills on 11 attacks for a .636 hitting percentage. Victoria Chou had 30 assists and a team-high five aces, while Philippine Alba had nine digs.

Bard won the first set in dominating fashion before being down, 7-3, in the second set. The Raptors rallied back, tying the set at 10-10 before going on to win 15 of the final 18 points of the set for a 2-0 match lead.

The Raptors used the momentum heading into the final set, taking a 12-4 lead. Yeshiva got as close as six points before Bard closed the match out.

The Raptors return to action on Saturday in Throggs Neck, N.Y. They will play Sarah Lawrence at noon before taking on Maritime at 2 p.m. at Maritime. You can follow both matches via Live Stats.
