NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team was swept by #11 Elmira and #3 New Paltz in a United Volleyball Conference event on Sunday.
In the other match of the day, New Paltz swept Elmira.
Elmira topped Bard 21-13, 25-21 and 25-17. Junior middle Dylan Kuhn (Fairport, NY) led the winners with 10 kills and Rob Shade (West Irondequoit, NY) had 10 digs.
For Bard,
Jesse Small had five kills,
Joseph Stier had 14 assists and
Tyler Zowaski had 10 digs.
New Paltz swept Bard 25-18, 25-18 and 25-15. Freshman Ryan Cole (Holbrook, NY) had eight kills (.778) and five digs, and Mitchell Kennedy (Penfield, NY) added eight kills without an error (.889) and 27 assists.
Bard got four kills from Small, 13 assists from Stier, and five digs from
Alex Adams.
Elmira is 18-12 overall, 4-4 in the UVC; New Paltz is 21-3, 7-1; Bard is 8-18, 0-7.
The Raptors finish UVC play on Wednesday with a match at Vassar. They will wrap up the 2015 season at the MIT Scramble over the weekend.
