ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team lost to SUNY Polytechnic Institute, 3-0, in a non-league game on Tuesday night.
Set scores for the winners were 25-13, 25-12 and 25-22.
Errors were the story of the match. Bard actually produced more kills than the visitors (29-28), but also produced 21 hitting errors to nine for SUNY Poly. The Wildcats (23-3) came out firing, hitting .348 in the first set, and .217 in the second set. Neither set was close.
The Raptors (12-19) found their footing in the third set and made it a match, hitting .290. But the Wildcats pulled it out, led by Melissa Krak (Canastota, NY), who had eight kills, Sydney Johnson (Nine Mile Falls, WA), who had 22 assists, and Morgan Eberley (Utica, NY), who had 10 digs.
Bard got nine kills from
Sofia Koukia, 24 assists and four digs from
Victoria Chou, and 10 digs from
Philippine Alba.
There are three games left in Bard's season, and they'll be played at SUNY Oneonta's Dig Pink Invitational. Bard will play Elmira on Friday, then Ramapo and Plattsburgh State on Saturday.
