BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team swept Brooklyn College on Saturday, reaching 12 wins in a season for the first time since 2008.
Set scores for the winners were 25-19, 25-19 and 25-18. Brooklyn fell to 6-17.
The first set was even until Bard took leads of 15-11 and 20-15 en route to a 25-19 decision. The second set was tied at 18-18, but two kills from
Tytravia Riley, one kill from
Zoe Morgan-Weinman and an ace by
Victoria Chou allowed the Raptors to pull away and win it, 25-19.
It was 8-8 in the third set before a four-point run, culminating with a pair of aces from
Julia Berry, and the Raptors never relinquished the lead, closing out the Bulldogs, 25-18.
Brianna Montana (Brooklyn, NY) led the Bulldogs with nine kills and nine digs.
Bard (12-18) got eight kills and eight digs from
Sofia Koukia, six kills, two digs and two blocks from
Alexis Akingbade, two kills 24 assists and six digs from Chou, 10 digs from
Philippine Alba and seven digs and six aces from Berry.
