MARCY, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team split a pair of matches on the final day of the Wildcat Invite, hosted by SUNY Polytechnic Institute, on Saturday.
Bard lost to Elms, 3-0, and defeated Mount Ida, 3-0. The Raptors are 1-3.
Elms defeated Bard 25-20, 25-13 and 25-18. The Blazers got 12 kills from freshman Gabriel Reis Levy (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).
For Bard,
Jesse Small had six kills,
Kai Bernier-Chen had five kills and 10 digs, and
Joseph Stier had 10 assists.
Later, Bard swept Mount Ida 25-21, 25-18 and 26-24. Peter Griffenkanz (Deer Park, NY) and James Ames (West Hartford, CT) led the Mustangs with 12 kills apiece.
For Bard, Bernier-Chen had 11 kills and
Alex Adams added seven kills (.375).
Mahir Sheikh had 13 assists and Stier had 12 assists and nine digs; freshman
Tyler Zowaski led the Raptors with 10 digs.
