ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team lost to 13th-ranked Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 3-0, in its United Volleyball Conference and home opener on Thursday night.
Set scores for the Engineers were 25-16, 25-16 and 25-15.
MIT hit .337 as a team. Senior Alex Klein (San Diego, CA) led the way with 13 kills, while sophomore Martin Krasuski (Aurora, IL) and 6-7 freshman Jack Serrino (Glencoe, IL) added nine kills apiece. Junior Brendan Chang (Laytonsville, MD), the UVC Libero of the Year last year and a preseason All-American this year, moved to setter and had 24 assists. Suyash Fulay (Wexford, PA) led the winners with 13 digs. MIT is 2-0 overall, 1-0 in the UVC.
Bard (1-4, 0-1 UVC) got seven kills from
Jesse Small, who hit .412, and six kills from
Alex Adams. Freshman
Joseph Stier led the Raptors with 12 assists and added nine digs, and freshman
Tyler Zowaski contributed nine digs.
Up next for Bard is a road contest at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn on Saturday.
