Box Score 2 POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Bard College baseball team wrapped up the 2014 season with a pair of Liberty League losses at Vassar College on Sunday afternoon.
But the Raptors didn't go quietly, throwing a major scare into the Brewers, who needed a sweep to clinch a Liberty League playoff spot. After losing the first three games of the weekend 7-1, 17-3 and 12-2, the Raptors rallied with two outs to tie the final game of the series in the top of the eighth inning, 6-6.
Vassar got a two-out, two-run double from junior Jason Garfinkle (Encino, CA) in the bottom of the eighth and went on to win the game, 11-6.
Bard finishes the season at 3-26-1 overall, 0-20-1 in the Liberty League. Vassar is 18-12, 13-7 and will play in the Liberty League playoffs later this week.

Vassar went up 4-2 in the bottom of the third on a walk, a couple of stolen bases and two errors.
In the fifth, things started to get a little sweaty for Vassar when Bard trimmed the lead to 4-3. Fisher doubled and went to third on an error, then scored on a groundout by Hawke. But Vassar got a one-out, two-run single from Brooks English (Milton, MA) to create some breathing room with a 6-3 lead in the bottom of the sixth.
