Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Bard College baseball team lost the final game of a series with Rochester Institute of Technology, 21-1, on Saturday.
RIT senior Walt Roman went 6-for-7, scored five runs, drove in five runs, and hit for the cycle as the Tigers (9-4, 4-1 Liberty League) scored 21 unanswered runs after Bard had taken a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Junior Skip Flanagan (Framingham, MA) added four hits and drove in three runs for the winners, who finished with 24 hits.
Bard (3-10-1, 0-4-1 LL) scored its only run in the bottom of the first when
JP Fisher led off the game with a triple and scored on a groundout by
Quinn McInerney. Fisher finished 2-for-4, but
Aaron DePetris had Bard's only other hit.
Junior Ethan Humbert (Rose, NY) struck out nine over six innings to earn the victory. Fisher gave up four earned runs over four innings and took the loss.
The Raptors will next play a road contest on Thursday at City College of New York. First pitch is at 3:30 - it's a single game.
