AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Bard College baseball team lost the first game of its spring trip to Florida, 13-3, to Sewanee University on Saturday.
The Tigers (8-12) banged out 18 hits, stole five bases and benefitted from five Bard errors. The Raptors fell to 3-2.
Junior Michael Walker (Nashville, TN) led Sewanee by going 4-for-6 with three RBI. The Tigers led, 4-2, after three innings, but scored twice in the fourth, once in the fifth and four in the seventh to take charge. Junior Charles Warren (Atlanta, GA) got the winning, yielding sevens hits and two runs over five innings with one walk and no strikeouts.
Bard starter
Dylan Long took the loss after giving up 11 hits and six earned runs through 4 2/3 innings.
JP Fisher went 3-for-5 with an RBI and
Tom Danz had two hits and an RBI for the Raptors.
