Raptors swept on first day of UVC Crossover at MIT

Billy Williams led Bard in kills in both matches, but the Raptors lost to Medaille and Penn State-Behrend on Saturday.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Bard College men's volleyball team was defeated by Medaille College and Penn State-Behrend on Saturday, the first day of a United Volleyball Conference Crossover hosted by MIT.

In the morning, Bard lost to Medaille, 3-0, by set scores of 25-15, 25-20 and 25-20.

Six-foot-seven senior Trevor Barrett (Amherst, NY) was a monster for the Mustangs, hitting .471 with 19 kills and five digs. As a team, Medaille hit .368 while Bard hit .082. The Mustangs are 3-4, 2-1 in the UVC after a 3-2 win over NYU later in the day.

For Bard, Billy Williams had six kills, Henry Kasiske had 18 assists, and Jesse Small had eight digs

Later, Bard lost to Penn State-Behrend, 3-0, by set scores of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-15.

Six-foot-six middle hitter Kevin Smith led the Lions with 13 kills and a .571 hitting percentage. Penn State-Behrend is 4-2 overall, 2-1 in the UVC

Williams had eight kills and nine digs against Penn State-Behrend; Kasiske had 17 assists and seven digs, and Alex Adams chipped in with four kills and nine digs.

Bard, 2-6 overall and 0-3 in the UVC, will finish the crossover with a 10:30 a.m. match against Hilbert on Sunday. You can follow it via Live Stats right here.
