RIT handles Bard, 98-73, in men's basketball

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - A 30-5 run over the last 11 minutes of the first half turned a close game into a blowout, and the Bard College men's basketball team lost to Rochester Institute of Technology, 98-73, on Saturday afternoon.

It was Bard's 10th straight loss, all in the Liberty League. The Raptors are 5-14 overall.

RIT (13-7, 7-4 Liberty League) held Bard to 20 first-half points, turning a 16-15 lead into a 46-20 halftime lead with domination on the board and better than 50 percent shooting.

In the end, the rebounding edge was 48-21, 17-5 on the offensive boards. The lead got as big as 33 in the second half before both teams emptied their benches.

The Tigers got 19 points and seven rebounds from sophomore JP Reagan (Cortland, NY), 17 points from Kamron Davis (Syracuse, NY) and 16 from Gabe Nicasio (Essex Junction, NY).

Bard was led by Lamar Powell, who scored 17 of his 23 points in the second half. Siondueh Burnette added 19 points - 17 in the second half - and Alex Fabean-Scotch finished with 16 points.
