POTSDAM, N.Y. - The Bard College men's basketball team lost to Clarkson University, 64-47, in a Liberty League game on Friday night.
The Raptors shot 1-for-9 from three-point range and 29 percent from the field in the first half, scoring just 17 points, but Clarkson struggled, too, and it was 21-17 at halftime.
Bard cut the second-half lead to three early on, but 10 of Bard's 17 turnovers came in the last 20 minutes, and Clarkson slowly pulled away. The Raptors (5-19, 0-15 Liberty League) never had the lead in the second half.
Clarkson (15-9, 9-6 Liberty League) got 23 points, five rebounds and seven steals from John Coleman (Potsdam, NY), and 13 points and 12 rebounds from Felix Abongo (Beacon, NY).
Bard got 13 points from
Lamar Powell, who enters the last game of his career on Saturday needing 19 points to reach 1,000.
Siondueh Burnette added nine points and eight rebounds.
