ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's squash team showed signs of improvement at this weekend's Bard Round Robin, according to coach
Craig Thorpe-Clark.
The Raptors lost to Bryant, 9-0, and Siena, 5-3, but are making strides.
Against Siena,
Jack Smith prevailed at No. 2 with a 3-0 win over Justin Capuano;
Francesca Cornali won her first-ever match, beating Jacky Cheng 11-7, 8-11, 11-6 and 11-2; and
Vikramaditya Joshi won a thrilling five-game match against Tucker Tavarone, prevailing 11-9, 12-10, 3-11, 6-11 and 12-10.
"Jack had a very solid win and he's worked very hard and deserves it," Thorpe-Clark said. "Great win for Olivia, who never gives away a single point and makes her opponent work very hard. Vikram played a great fifth game and plays with great flair and commitment."
Up next for Bard are the Liberty League Championships, to be hosted by Vassar next weekend.
