ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - For only the second time since joining the Liberty League in 2011, the Bard College women's soccer team scored twice in a conference game on Friday.
Unfortunately, it wasn't close to being enough, as St. Lawrence ran away with a 5-2 victory.
After Samantha Rock (Milton, VT) put the Saints up, 1-0, in the 7th minute,
Isabel Keddy-Hector tied it in the 13th minute. Her direct kick from 20 yards hit the wall and deflected to her left. She gathered it and lofted a left-footed, arcing shot over keeper Kelsey West (Fall River, Nova Scotia) and into the upper corner at the far post to make it 1-1.
Just a few minutes later, Rock ripped a shot from 25 yards that beat
Lily Harris to the far post, and Kaleigh White (Middletown, MA) struck just before halftime to make it 3-1 at the break.
It was 5-1 when Keddy-Hector bent a corner kick just inside the far post in the 88th minute.
St. Lawrence (9-4-1, 2-2-1 Liberty League) outshot Bard, 21-7, and held a 6-4 edge in corners.
